The West Central Junior Curling District Championships were held on February 11/12 in Strongfield.  Thank you to Dana Adams, Larry Rinholm as well as the communities of Strongfield and Loreburn for hosting this year's event.

The Junior Girls competition was a best of three event between Rosetown and Dinsmore.  Rosetown won the first game and Dinsmore won the second.  The third game came down to the last rock in the last end.  Rosetown was up one with the hammer but Dinsmore was lying two.  Rosetown skip, Taya Green, drew full eight foot on her last rock to win the district championship.

The Mixed Competition saw three teams competing, Loreburn, Beechy and Dinsmore.  Dinsmore defeated Loreburn and then defeated Beechy.  Beechy and Loreburn played in the 'B' side final with Beechy winning knocking Loreburn out.  The next day Beechy and Dinsmore played off in the 'AB' final with Dinsmore needed to win one game and Beechy needing to beat Dinsmore twice.  Beechy came out playing very well and defeated Dinsmore in both games to claim the District Mixed Curling title.  The second game came down to the last rock again.

The Boys competition had two teams from Dinsmore and one from Outlook.  The Outlook team defeated both the teams from Dinsmore.  So, the two teams from Dinsmore had to play off in the 'B' final.  The final game had to be moved to Wednesday Feb. 16.  Outlook defeated Dinsmore in that final.
