West Central District (SHSAA)

The West Central District put together a stellar performance at the SHSAA Provincial Track and Field Championships.  West Central won the meet based on points per 1000 students anchored by the the 1A Team Champion Dinsmore Wildcats.  Outlook High School finished second in the 2A team category.  Highlights of medal performance are listed below:

Jae Evans of Dinsmore won 5 Gold medals in Junior Boys 100m, Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump and the 4 x 100m Relay.  Jae broke the Provincial Long Jump record with a jump of 6.96m breaking the 1967 record by 23cm.  Jae was also the Junior Boys Aggregate winner.

Jordyn Mann of Dinsmore was a triple medalist winning Gold, Silver and Bronze in Midget Girls Discus, Shotput and Javelin.

Matthew Jones of Dinsmore won Gold in the Junior Boys Javelin and the boys 4 x 100 Relay

Nicole Anhorn of Elrose won Gold in the Senior Girls Long Jump and Bronze in the Senior Girls 4 x 100m Relay

Justine Jorgenson of LCBI won Silver in the Senior Girls Long Jump and Bronze in the Senior Girls 4 x 100m Relay.

Jonathan Guidinger of Eatonia won Bronze in the Senior Boys 1500m.

Kaci Jones of Outlook High School won Bronze in the Junior Girls Javelin.

Shane Lafontaine of Loreburn won Bronze in the Junior Boys Long Jump and Gold in the 4 x 100m Relay.

Mark Weir of Outlook High School won Bronze in the Midget Boys Javelin.

Kevin Stockman of Beechy won Bronze in the Junior Boys 200m and Gold in the 4 x 100m.

The members of the West Central Relay Team winning the Gold medal in the Junior Boys 4 x 100m Relay were:  Jae Evans (Dinsmore), Matthew Jones (Dinsmore), Shane Lafontaine (Loreburn), and Kevin Stockman (Beechy).......this was a repeat performance from last year with the same runners!

The members of the West Central Relay Team winning the Bronze medal in the Senior Girls 4 x 100m Relay were:  Nicole Anhorn (Elrose), Justine Jorgenson (LCBI), Maddy Vollmer (Loreburn), and Cheyanne Sincennes (Kenaston)
