The West Central Junior Curling districts were held in Eston this past weekend on Mar. 16/17. Thank you to the Eston Composite staff and students along with the organizing committee of Pam Mastel, Kevin Mastel, Darryl Elaschuk for hosting our championship.
Dinsmore Composite School won the District Mixed title. They also went undefeated beating Kyle 5-1 in the final. The team consisted of Ryan Kako (skip), Tristen Flath (3rd), Brady Mann (second), Easton Genest (second) and Spencer Flath (lead). Lori Beattie (Coach)
Rosetown Composite School won the District Girls title. The Rosetown team was undefeated playing the 1 loss 'B' champions from Elrose in the 'A-B' final. Elrose defeated Rosetown which forced a winner take all game between the 2 teams for the District championship. Rosetown defeated Elrose 7-4 to take the Girls District title. The team consisted of Laurie Slocombe (coach), Brylee Jeffries (skip), Corina Fritz (3rd), Pyper Zacharias (2nd) and Cassandra McKenzie (lead).
Eston Composite School won the District Boys Title, going defeatead beating Outlook in the final 8-0. The team is composed of Matthew Thompson (lead), Dawson Streimer (3rd), Josh Fuller (2nd), Kaiden Mastel (skip), Pamela Mastel (coach). Front row: Ryan Turner (spare), Isaac Stevenson (spare)
